Due to the inclement weather this week, our Junior Track and Field has been rescheduled for Thursday, June 13th. Best of luck to all of our Grade 4, 5, and 6 students!
School Track and Field Day

We will be having our annual track and field day for our Grade 4, 5, and 6 students on Monday, June 10th (weather permitting!) here at school. Please make sure your children in the junior grades come with a hat and water bottle for the day. Sunscreen can be applied before they come to school in the morning, as it’s only a half day of athletics. Good luck to all of the students participating!

Spring Photo Day – May 8th

If you need to book a haircut for Spring Photo Day, make sure it’s done before May 8th! This is the day we will be taking class and sibling photos, so remember to “scrub up” for it and bring your best smile.
Turn Off The Screens Week Is Here!

In honour of Earth Day this Monday, Parkway is holding a variety of “turn off the screens” activities this week.
Monday – Family Scavenger Hunt (6 – 7 pm)
Tuesday – Parent Information Session on Internet Safety for your kids (6:30 – 8 pm, with RSVP)
Wednesday – Family Craft Night (6 – 7 pm)
All evening activities are meant for the whole family (babysitting is available on Tuesday if necessary, please contact the school so that we can plan for your attendance), so students are only allowed to attend in the company of a parent or guardian. We look forward to seeing everyone at one or more of these activities!
Internet Safety Presentations

On Tuesday, April 23rd we will be hosting two internet safety presentations – one during the day for students and one in the evening for parents. The evening presentation is not suitable for children, so we will be providing child care for adults who attend the information session. All interested members of the community are welcome and we ask that you contact the school if you will be attending so that we can have a clear idea of the numbers to expect. Helping Your Child with Reading and Math

The Ministry of Education has recently published two parent guides that will help parents work with their children and make learning in Math and Reading fun. These are available in several different languages. Our school received enough English copies to distribute to most of our primary students, but if you did not receive one you can access the online version here:

On Saturday, April 13 there will be a series of workshops held for parents at Galt Collegiate Institute. These workshops will focus on teenage behaviour, nutrition, anxiety and resiliency in your child. Please see the information below for details.

B3 and B16 Going to the Safety Village
This Friday the Grade 5/6 and Grade 6 classes will be going to the Safety Village to learn about fire safety and internet safety. If you have a child in one of these classes, please make sure that you return the permission form. There is no cost to this trip.
